made the mistake of buying the pass

Most of the people we encountered were quite nice and their dogs were nice; then there are the few that ruin it with aggressive dogs and no sense to remove their animal. Clearly absolutely no vetting goes to checking the dogs, their temperament or their tags. I think it might be an old ball field for which I can see nothing worth my money. In short it is a ramshackle forgotten spot that someone decided could earn the town some money. Given other lovely parks we've been to I feel bad for the dogs and humans at Long Valley dog park.

    Not so nice

Just like the review above. I was in town and saw this dog park. I took my Charlie in for a play time. He was met by a dog that looked like a pit bull. The dog tried to bit Charlie several times and the owner did nothing about it. I took my dog out and would never go back there again. I just found out that you have to PAY to be a member of that place. Why would I pay for trouble for my dog?

    Unfriendly

I stopped in to visit and met someone on the board. They made sure I knew not to come back unless I paid the membership fee. I've stopped in since then and been told that two board members have not paid their fee yet this year, three months into the new year. What gives?

    Friendly People and Pups!

Would be nice if it was free to public but a great dog park nonetheless. My pups loved rolling around in the grass, and the people there are extremely friendly!

    Bullies at the LVDP

Today (Sat 11/23) about 3:30 pm, my corgi, Gracie, and I were driving past the LVDP & I noticed there was one dog in there. I took the initiative to pull in as I had never been to this Dog park before and am always looking for ways to build her confidence. The dog parks in Bedminister have always been a pleasant experience. My Gracie is about 20 months & is far from aggressive in any sense of the word. Gracie & Elvis were getting along nicely, no problems.

Until... 2 women came in with their dogs Cinnamon & Harley. Both were somewhat aggressive though Cinnamon's owner had the common courtesy to call her dog off. This was not the case with the large rottie type dog with light eyes. The dog became increasingly aggressive & Gracie yelped several times and tried to run but easily fell prey to this very unfriendly dog's bullying. The owner had absolutely had no control over her animal & I ended up running with Gracie to get out of the fencing.

Harley's behavior is not what I have ever experienced in a dog park, in my lifetime of dog ownership; however this dog's owners behavior was an even worse. Very rude & unkind to my dog & myself.

I have just now read that this is a members only park. For Bullies & their dogs only? You couldn't pay me to join a dog park which is not only animal unfriendly, but rude to newcomers. Glad I got the experience before I joined. What a shame.

    Long Valley Dog Park

This is a nice size park (1 ac?) which requires a township pass (15.00 pr yr) . There is a small hill you must climb and you must bring your own water. Bags are provided and a there are a few chairs. People and dogs are very nice at this park.
