Probably the only park in the state that does this. Wow, we have been to every dog park in the city and you have to have a license through Taylorsville to take your dog? There are signs but not prominent enough, I don't really read signs at dog parks anymore because they are usually all the same. We were there for 10 minutes before getting a ticket because we didn't have tags through Taylorsville. Why go here when there are tons of better places throughout the valley that you don't have to pay for.

Irresponsible Dog Owners, Frustrating Hours, and fee

I used to live in Taylorsville and this was the park I took my fur-babies to often. My dogs have been attacked at least 3 times at this park because of irresponsible pet owners letting their dogs get out of hand. People will sit on the benches and let their dogs have run of the place, even if they are showing signs of aggression. The hours of operation are so weird and you will be harassed by animal control if you don't pay a fee to be there. Definitely not worth the time or money. The only plus is that the Jordan River Parkway is right across the bridge from the park and if your pup is okay staying on-leash it's a fun place to walk and explore.

Could be better, could be worse

I go to this park because it's close to my house. You do have to watch out for irresponsible owners and know when to leave. Hours are ridiculous, the people living near the park have "made a deal" with the city because they don't want to hear dogs so it's closed Saturday evening and Sunday morning/ afternoon. A permit is required but it's a once a year thing so whatever, it's inconvenient and overkill but doesn't bother me too much.

    NEED Off Leash $$ Permit

I've never taken my dogs out to play at this park because they require your dogs to wear an off leash paid permit and charge non-Taylorsville residents to pay $50 per dog and residents $10 per dog.
Then I found out this is the ONLY dog park that I've found that charges people/dogs to use it.
I've been to the park very recently to look around; the fence in one of the smaller cages needs to be replaced as there's several areas where it looks like a big dog has tried to get out and pushed the fence out and bent it.
They do have 3 separate areas: 2 smaller areas and 1 large area with walking trail and things for the dogs to play on, water fountain and minimal areas to sit. I also had large dogs jump up on me and no owners looking out for their dogs. One couple walked in with their young German Shepherd who also jumped up on me they didn't even correct their dogs behavior and they did not have a permit. .....
It's located directly across a children's park and the Jordan River.
It's a beautiful area but it's absolutely ridiculous that this park requires an off leash paid permit.

    Bad choice

Fees to use a dog park, no thank you! Closed on Saturdays, no thank you! All of the nasty signs on the front gate are very off putting, and animal control there to raise revenue for Taylorsville is crappy. I will never take my dog to this park again. It's too bad, it could be a fun park, but it seems more like the dog-park equivalent of a speed trap, there for the city to raise money through citations.

    Inconvenient hours

This park has the most inconvenient hours of "operation". It needs to be like the west jordan dog park.

charged $ 100 for visiting the park!!

I was charged $ 100 citation for visiting the park. I was not aware that this is a restricted area. Animal control said he was willing to call the cops if I didn't have my drivers license. He probably would have taken my dogs too. Honestly, who carries there license on a bike ride?
I had my license, so I was only charged $100 for trespassing on a public park.

    FOXTails

Not maintained for dog use! Fox tails are everywhere. My dog had to go to ER for surgery to remove one from his foot! Cost was over $300

Hours/Days and fee could be alot better for people and thier dogs

Hours/Days and fee could be alot better for people and thier dogs

The hours and days are not convient. How about having the hours being open all day and every day like West Jordan dog park does.. With the restricted hours/days too many dogs are there at once. The fee for non Taylorsville resident would be more affordable if it was lowered.

    Scary place

My dog and I loved this place though we didn't have tags to go there, and if you aren't from Taylorsville it's pretty pricy. I haven't been since the dog was shot though, I don't like that a guy had a gun at the dog park anyway, seems like he was going to eventually shoot a dog at some point no matter what - not worth the risk

    Great park for dogs

Being a resident from Taylorsville, the fee is not bad. Paid $10 for the tags. Not too many dogs if you go the right time.

    Not worth it

I haven't been back since an off duty animal control officer shot a dog in this park ! Insane.

    fee warning

Be aware: this park requires the dogs to have city permits before attending this park. This limits traveling visitors from using this park. Other than that it is a really nice park for the dogs.
