Alpine Helen

Take a stroll with Fido along the picturesque German-inspired town of Alpine Helen, formally known as Helen, GA. The town is a re-creation of an alpine village with gingerbread-trimmed buildings, Old World towers, balconies and squares, restaurants, and shops. Some restaurants offer outdoor seating that is dog friendly, and some shops will allow a leashed pup, but be sure to inquire first before entering any buildings with Fido. Visit Website

    Dog friendly signs

I loved this town. It’s such a cute town and most of the stores are dog friendly. There are a few stores that have signs outside that ask for you to carry your dog inside the store and there are many restaurants that have outdoor seatings that are dog friendly.

    Dog Tolerant, not friendly.

I would say Helen Georgia is dog tolerant, but not as friendly as some of the other neighboring towns. You will not find water bowls outside of the shops and most shops will only allow dogs as long as you can carry them in your arms. Most restaurants were accommodating.
