    Great Little Beach

Visited with my dog and 3 kids for the first time and we all really enjoyed it. Was hesitant to visit here after reading other reviews but was more then pleasantly surprised.

Water area was a little rocky but not to hard on the feet, and also had lots of sand to run, play, and sit.

When we went it was very quiet and maybe about 5 dogs on the beach. By the time we left there was a handful more. Dogs with their owners all were very nice and respectful of each other.

Was nice to have the kids and dog swim and play together, and not just a dog or kid beach.

    Will definitely be returning again.

    Dirty And Dangerous

Very disappointed as there was a lot of sharp, broken remnants of beer bottles, cigarette butts and dog poop left by owners. The water is brown and feel pretty gross on my legs. Also felt sick since I’ve been there and being seen my the doctor the stomach troubles and headaches- yes I am concerned about the water being unclean. We were there for over an hour (under a beach umbrella) because of the cool breeze and the opportunity for our puppy to interact with other friendly dogs.
It’s a real shame because our dogs deserve better. When I am better, I will be making a complaint to the local politicians/community board, as well as New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. I think we should all make those calls.

nice park but beach is a little small

Overall a nice place at fist when we went in we didn't see the beach luckily we walked down and found the beach I just wish that the actual beach that is by the water was a little bigger because it can become a bit crowded but overall it's a nice place to take the dogs

    Hot Day Fun

My pup really enjoyed herself. I thought the beach was very clean. I do wish there where more places to throw out garbage or dispensers for poo bags. She had a blast and everyone on the beach was friendly. The water was calm and really warm.

    Right on the water

Park itself was nice. No garbage except for a plastic bottle laying around, didn't see any glass as in previous reviews. Only issue was dog that was there attacked another dog and owner. Ofcourse the ones that got hurt left and attacker and owners stayed.

    could be better

The concept is great, but two. If drawbacks, 1) there was quite a bit of trash here, including broken glass which could be hazardous and 2) then natural borders often open up to roadways, could be a problem for anyone with a dog that likes to roam. Would be nice if the beach was maintained, had trash cans and if so much was not closed off during "nesting" season.

may be hazardous due to trash items on the sand.

    beach!

My dog loved running up and down the beach of the great South Bay. The natural boundaries of the dunes and water make this a great place to take your dog off leash. I took off a star bc there's no shade or trash receptacle. It's carry-in, carry-out.
