    Small dog area

This is an excellent park for small dogs to go off leash. The walking path is great and everything is well maintained.

My pug is finicky about his water. He doesn’t like the water at the park so we bring our own from home.

    Great park

We love this park, especially in the mornings when everyone and all the dogs are really chill.
Most people here are nice, once in a while you'll get crazies or people who don't pay attention, don't pick up after their dogs etc. But the majority are really nice and friendly. I have made a lot of friends here.
They recently expanded the large dog park & have an additional gated area which my dog LOVES. It is an optional expansion so if you're worried about ticks & poison ivy in the tall grass, you can opt to not go there.
It gets a little crazy in the afternoons when the dogs have too much energy, but the mornings are perfect.

    such fun!

I have been taking our Newfie here for about 3 years now, almost daily. Most of the dogs are well behaved and most owners pay attention to their dogs so that there aren't problems. But just like some parents to little humans, some dog parents are oblivious to the proper park etiquette. There is poop that hasn't been picked up and there are people that start walking and don't keep track of where their dog is so if it gets in a tussle, they aren't close to help with the situation. FTI...More issues tend to happen in the evenings, after people get home from work and the dogs have been alone all day and there are more dogs there.

Overall, I love the space this park provides, the people and dogs are friendly and most of all, my dog loves it!!!

    Nashota vs Minooka

I disagree with a previous post. I go to both Minooka and Nashota, each has it's own benefits. I often like to walk with the dogs, and Nashota is better suited to walking. It is open and flat, well maintained and one of the best things is that it has running water. there are benches adn picnic tables to relax in if you want to sit and watch you dog(s) play.

Minooka is a lovely setting of field and forest. There are paths to walk the whole area. The paths run through some of the wooded areas, and are paths worn by foot, not maintained by the park. The footing can get a little slippery at times, and remember the DEET, it's easy to pick up a tick. Bring water and a dish, because there is no running water available. I've actually found the dog owners to be less talkative, and some of the dogs to be less disciplined than at Nashota's dog part......just an observation I've had.

Both parks are about 20 minutes from my house, and I go to both. However, I find myself gravitating to Nashota, because I like to walk while the dogs play, and I prefer having running water available.

    Used to Love It

I really loved the park...only been going for about a month, off and on. Most the people and dogs are very friendly but In the past few days I have seen too many dog fights. There is alway trouble when someone brings 3 dogs at a time. Today some woman had 3 dogs that she couldn't control and one of them attacked my dog. He wasn't bitten but pretty shaken up. I will be looking for another dog park.

    Are You Kidding

I went here because I wanted to find something different. We always go to Manooka and wanted to see rhis park. NEVER AGAIN. Manooka is the best lots of room and the people are great. This place is a hole compared to this.

    Great Park!

I love this park. Has 2 separate areas for dogs according to size (small and large breed). Plenty of room for the dogs to run. Very clean area and nice park.

    Great

This is a great Dog park. flat, plenty of running room. you can see your dog at all times. small wooded area and has water supply. not really happy with the buckets because dogs step in them but it is a great park. has some young trees that over time will go a long way to making the park look good. Highly recomend it. also the people are very friendly and everyone watches out for each other

    county park

very nice, 17 acres fence in dog park, people are very dog friendly. This is a county park, and daily fee of 3.00, this is very agressively enforce, there is no one at the booth to collect the money, if you get caught, you hust pay the 3.00 dollar fee. water situation needs to be sanitize a lit bit, a garden hose with buckets, make sure you start with a clean bucket. I would go again
