    Nice park

We are from out of town and the park was great! Small size park but nice dogs and owners! Made us feel welcomed and introduced all the dogs to us by name. We are going back

    Cormac

My dog Cormac is a sweet boy 12 months of age. He's big and gentle and helps with my PTSD. However a woman named Joan continues to allow her dog Octavian to attack mine and others. She does this on purpose and its sadistic and dangerous. If you care about your dog dont come here. Your dog may loose its life and that's the truth. Mine nearly got killed.

    Dog Owners who shouldn't own?

Dogs bite, snarl and chase each other. It's part of being a dog. Humans spend too much time expecting dogs to be like us, and not enough time examining the psyche of the dog. Before I came to Tucson, I lived next to a 400 acre park and there were dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments. Occasionally there would be owners who freak out over dogs playing but I've only once seen the freakout be legit. Most of these reviews appear to be from whining owners. Knock it off. Let your dog be a freaking dog.

    i like it

after reading the previous reviews especially the ones regarding unfriendly OWNERS, I have had similar experiences with only a few people. my dog is a medium size spayed female who is friendly to dogs and people alike. I watch her very carefully to make sure she behaves herself. yes there are some owners who misbehave. but I have met many many more who are great people. I would give it another shot if I were you. and you might meet very nice people, like me and the ones I have met.

    Not good for small dogs

I was there for about 2 min because I couldn't get thru the gate without the bigger dogs jumping on me. I wouldn't recommend unless you have a bigger dog or a brave small one.

    Disabled Owner

Unbelievable comments! There is another dog park on Mona Lisa Rd. that may be more suitable for the previous reviewers might feel more comfortable taking their dog(s) to. Personally, I wouldn't take my dog to any other dog park than this one in Oro Valley. I had a Lab that has since died who went to this park almost every day since she was 6 mos. old and I found the people very friendly and the dogs who just behaved like dogs!. No matter where you go, you may run into people who are ignorant and act or speak inappropriately, but I have always had good experiences. I now have a Husky Mix that is somewhat timid around other dogs, but I know that it is MY responsibility to make sure that she behaves appropriately and if not then I need to remove her from the park. Personally, I have no problem with puppies, Pit Bulls or intact male dogs and I am sorry that the other reviewers had unpleasant experiences at this park.

    owner of a dog

I went for the first time ever to a dog park and it was the middle of the day. There was a lady with 2 dogs in the off leash area.she was jogging. When my daughter and I ealked to the gate we found that her dogs were not friendly. They barked and snarled at my dog. The lady was rude as she put them on a leash and was very disrespectful to me treating me like I shouldnt be anhereand and said rude things as she left. luckily nice people came after.

    Mr.

Yeah, John in Tucson, I had a similar experience. My dog, Zeus, is an in-tact male Lab/-Boxer mix of 75 lbs and a number of old women in the park screamed in my face merely because my dog was packing around the equipment that he was born with. A couple actually got up and left though my dog had not actually done anything wrong. On the other hand, I met a few who were not offended by Zeus' in-tact status. One lady whose Terrier Zeus let chew on his neck without complaint remarked as we were leaving, "Come again, Bring Zeus!" So it was not all bad.

    small dog owner

This is a nice park with shade trees, tables and water for dogs. However, it's not divided for small vs. large dogs and there are frequent issues with this. My small dog will not go inside now unless the dogs are small; she has been attacked 5 times and is a totally non-aggressive 20 lb. terrier. It's unfortunate that the park doesn't seem to want to do anything about dividing this nice park; inquiries went unanswered. Most people are responsible dog owners, but not all and I've run into all sorts here.

    Nice Small Park with Exceptions

This is a nice, small park. However, the one day I took my two medium to large dogs there, an owner came in with a young puppy. The puppy jumped on the face of my 54 lb female and she naturally snarled and growled and barked. The owner sat back on the bench and said they hoped the puppy would learn it 's lesson not to jump on other dog's faces. I'm not sure I understand why anyone would take a puppy to a dog park.

We visited this park twice during our recent stay in the area (11/12). The fenced park's ground surface is clean sand, with a concrete path running through it. The park is almost entirely shaded by trees and shade structures. Water, pickup bags and trashcans are available. The park is not big, but long enough that dogs can really run from one end to the other. Both times we visited, numerous dogs and owners were there - some locals and some visitors. Everyone was very friendly and our dogs really enjoyed themselves.

    not a good park

I brought my pitbull mix and right away I was looked at in a unwelcome manner because of the breed of my dog. My dog is very friendly and yet people started to leave when I came in and I heard them say I don't want my dog around that dog. And there was a cerrtain person there who seem to think he ran the place. I felt like it was a cult of people and everyone knew everyone. I won't ever go back.
