    Great NPS location!

Connecticut’s only national park (national historical park) and dedicated to the visual arts. The park commemorates J Alden Weir and other early artists who stayed there. Dog friendly!!! Dogs are allowed on the grounds outdoors with various hiking trails including a small pond. Not very busy usually with a decent sized parking lot. Often times you can see the artist in residence on the grounds that participate in the program. You can bring your family, borrow paint supplies and paint the landscape outdoors for a different experience. Parking lot also has a passport stamping station and information. Love bringing my dog here on almost a weekly basis!
