    Fido can travel with you on Island Express Ferry, a dog-friendly ferry ride in Beaufort, NC. The ferry allows leashed dogs to ride with you for the 20 minute ride to Cape Lookout National Seashore. Because there are wild horses on Cape Lookout, your pup must stay leashed at the destination as well. Visit Website

      Perfect for bringing pup to the islands!

      the Island Express Ferry was awesome for bringing our pup to Shackleford Banks! Definitely would do again.

      Beaufort’s Island Ferries

      The Schackleford Island Ferry wasn’t running because of high winds. So we took the Sand Dollar Island Ferry, big pontoon boat. This Ferry didn’t charge for dogs. The dogs loved walking around the island. We had to watch for Portgese Man of War Jelly Fish washed up on shore. We found some nice shells, and sat in the sun for awhile. The dogs loved the wind and the boat ride both ways. If you are in the area, bring a picnic lunch and visit an island.
