Reviews
Visitors find the OKC PawPark to be a mixed experience, with some praising the amenities and dog-friendly atmosphere, while others criticize the required membership and rude staff. Some travelers report issues with glass in the park, but overall it seems to be a large, diverse space for dogs to run and swim.

The fact that it's membership only should be in the description. This is not a good dog park for when you're on a road trip

Incoming honest review/rant.
So I have been a paid member for a bit. My dog loves other dogs and we always have someone to play with. People are friendly and if your dog befriends another, play dates in the park are made all the time. I go nearly every day and have heard the attendant explain to nonmembers there's a small fee (10 whole freaking dollars) and what it goes towards politely. Haven't heard them be 'snooty' cause let's be honest. That person could be a potential new member. I get that this park used to be free but I like that we know who comes in and when and that all the dogs are vaccinated. They are constantly upgrading the park too. We have cute kiddy pools near the water fountains that dogs go crazy over. We have new toys they bring and balls all the time. If people are traveling they can use the outside trail that leads to a large play are further down. - AmandaJan 15, 2020MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED
Another nice dog park gone to membership. Makes it very hard for people passing through to let their dogs run . People were very rude there and snooty about the membership. Ended up running my dog in a field across from the park.

Paid Membership required with proof of vaccines. Looked like a very nice place with segregated small and big dog areas and lots of shade. Zero dogs present though. Passing through and only wanting to spend an hour or so wasn’t worth the trouble to enroll. 3 bones b/c we didn’t actually get to enjoy. Probably would be a 5 bone experience. - WilliamAug 10, 2019When Is A Dog Park Not A Dog Park?
Ans: When there are no dogs. I hate to write this review because we have always loved this park, but it is currently closed to non-members. There were not enough donations to keep up maintainence. OK, we bought a membership which did not cost much (about as much as we had been stuffing in the donation box). The problem is that there are few to no dogs at the park. Two prime-time Saturday mornings and my dog (10:30am to noon) has been one of two or three dogs in the park, most of the time alone. I bring my dog to a dog park to socialize and play with other dogs. Now, unless things change I’m going to have to find another dog park for my boy.

This is an amazing dog park. It has plenty of room to run, play, explore. There is even an area on the lake that is completely fenced so dogs can swim. It has a barrier acoss the lake so dogs cannot escape even when swimming. Our two labs loved it!

We have been to the park twice. The first time was great, my four dogs had a blast in the pond area. There were other well behaved dogs there running and playing. The second time there was an elderly female maintenance lady using a weedeater in the small dog area. We get barely get through the gate of the large dog area and she starts hollering at us repeatedly to take our dogs off the leash. We just ignored her because she obviously doesn't care to understand why we leave our dogs on leash until we get them to the pond area.(they are hard to catch). Then she just started at us the entire walk to the pond. Then as we were leaving she comes to the back to inform another female there with her dogs something rude about us and our dogs. She's pointing and staring as we were the only ones around, who else could she have been referring to. I won't be going back even though my dogs had fun. I've heard through others that she is infamously known as the dog park nazi.. So sad.

I cannot say enough good things about this dog park. It has two large areas to run in and another large area to swim in. It was well kept and all the dogs that we came into contact with were really well behaved. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of dogs to play with. The park asks for donations for upkeep as well as dogs having proof of an up to date rabies vaccination, which I appreciate. They don't allow children under ten in the area, so keep that in mind but there is another park right in the area. We will definitely be going back!
- MelindaMore than a year agoGlass in this park
My girl loves to run and loves the lake at this park but every time we went she would leave with cuts all over her feet. I thought that she was just tender footed. Until one day when i noticed a glim on the ground. i picked it up it was glass. i looked over the yard ond found glass of many shaps and collers everywhere,
One of the care takers that were checking dog tags confirmed that this park always has glass shards that work their way up to the serfice. Due to the fact that this use to be part of the highway.. - TheresaMore than a year agoBig and Diverse
This is a great park for letting large dogs stretch their legs after a day of travel. There were only two people there when I went, and all dogs were well-behaved. Lots of room to run and play, and there is water to swim in, too! Plenty of bags provided for clean up, and trash bins to dispose of it. Loved it!
- SarahMore than a year agoGreat place to swim
This park has two sections for little and big dogs. The big dog area has access to a little pond area for the dogs to swim. It's great for ours who love to swim, run, and swim again!
