Pretty, but a lot of scrambling

This trail was crazy busy, so not really quiet and restorative. There was a lot of scrambling, and many uneven stairs. Taller dogs might be okay, but it wasn’t a good choice for our Cardigan Corgi.

    Consider Legion Lake instead.

    Great trail for pups

This was a gorgeous trail to walk with the pups. Not too strenuous and gorgeous views all around the lake. Parking there is super crowded on Saturdays so recommend going early or later if you’re going through Custer on a weekend.

    Pawsome Place!

This was extremely beautiful and fun place to hike. Dogs are welcome everywhere in this park, leashed but there is tons of room for all. This was an unexpected find on our trip to Rushmore! Would go again and again.
