Tar Pits Park

Bring Fido for a walk on the Carpinteria Bluffs Trail at Tar Pits Park in Carpinteria, CA. The area is one of the only five locations on the planet to see a natural tar seep and it can be seen from the trail along a short stretch of beach. Pets are welcome as long as they're cleaned up after. Dogs are prohibited on the beach. Visit Website

Nice walk for leashed dogs and people
Nice walk along bluffs with breeze and oceanview or take the route on the beach. Only one of five natural places to view tar pits. Limited parking. Park at state park for fee or nearby residential area is free. Leashed dogs allowed on trail but not beach.
