    Works in a pinch.

There are much better places around Red Bluff that are better for long walks or water access. But if you are looking for a place to stop for a bit on a road trip to let the dogs run around, this works. I wouldn't say don't go there, just there are better spots within a few miles.

Good for a short dog walk, not much of a beach access

We made our way to the river through heavy (and sometimes thorny) foliage. The trail wasn’t very clearly defined so make sure to keep an eye on your gps. The river beach is small and sloped, which wasn’t ideal for fetching. The pup can access some the Sacramento River tho.

I would skip the trail to the beach and just wander on the grassy patches of the park. Makes for a better fetch!

    never found river walk

Perfect shady place to walk dog but never found river walk. They need a map at the parking lot. Looked like a great frisbee golf course...be prepared dense thick vegetation once you leave the path or mowed areas.
Drive south to willow if you are looking to see a path and the river.

Not a Dog Park, but Leashed Dogs are Welcome.

While Samuel Ayer/Dog Island Park has the name "dog" in it, it is NOT a dog park. The name comes from the geographic shape of the island. However, leashed dogs are welcome here and in all other parks in the City of Red Bluff.
