    Too much dirt

My pup loves all dog parks but this one had way too much sand and dirt. He likes to play fetch so after one throw the ball was pretty gross and his paws get pretty beat up. Park is on a slope but has great shade at the top!

    Where is the Grass

This is a large doggie park with a division for little and large dogs. Problem is that it is only dirt. No Grass. Also, the large dog area is at an incline with large holes. And it is still dark if you go at night. Very little light.

    The Silverlake "SANDBOX"

Yes, the people ARE friendly and for the most part so are their dogs. It's with the park that I have issues. ESPECIALLY the the "small dog" area. So SADLY, it is nothing more than a SANDBOX! It's tiny, grass-less, unkept and an embarrassment to our community. This is NOT to say that we haven't tried: a few years back we raised money for improvements and a few lights were installed but the area is so very dismal. In the summer it's miserable due to sand fleas and no grass. I took my pooches there twice, on our last excursion one contracted an eye infection from the dirt! SILVERLAKE is a LOVELY Community...just BEWARE of "the SANDBOX".

    Seen much better.....

not just all dirt no grass in the off leash areas but REALLY muddy and dirty, people blatantly not picking up fecal matter right in front of us. Small dog area so bad all the other small dog owners brought their lil ones to the big dog area and that is way too dangerous for our Snowball. Even the Boneyard is heads and shoulders above Silverlake dog park IMHO.

    disappointing

Located off a very busy street in a really great neighborhood, this dog park is not a very great one. There is no grass and no trees. The incline in the large dog park part makes it dangerous for dogs and scary for certain dog owners. There are holes in the incline that are hard to see and can hurt your pup. It's a very busy dog park which can be great for socialization for your pup, but the space is not enough for the crowd. I love that the dog park is located next to a great loop around the Silver Lake Resevoir... Yet, I would choose not to go to this dog park due to the steep incline, lack of grass and trees, and overcrowding. If I only had a small dog then I would consider going to the small dog side.

    friendly!

Very friendly park, dogs and owners alike. Very attentive and community feel. Has a slope and some covered picnic tables. Water for the dogs. Was busy on the Saturday morning we went!

    Fun for the pups

Today I took Archer to the Silver lake dog park on our way home. The park doesn't have any grass unfortunately, but it does have a two areas, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. The large dog area is very large actually. It has a slight incline and a big water fountain in the middle for the pups to drink. There are benches and some with shade, but not much. What I did like about this park were the dogs and the people there all were very friendly. Archer is a smaller dog, but plays well with larger pups. I didn't have to worry about him getting beat up by the larger ones there.
Overall I would take him back to this park anytime, but it only gets 4 bones b/c it doesn't have grass.
