This is during the fall when the grass was turning colors.
Penny's on the small dog side looking out to the big dog side. Beautiful day, but no other "friends" were there.
This park is really awesome for both dogs and owners. It is a little hard to find, small signs, but once there all issues are forgotten. Small and large dogs fenced areas. Bring your dogs toys and a water dish. Loved it!

    Way in Southern Greensboro

Wish the map showed exact location. This off leash park is 26 minutes from our home and closer to Jamestown.

    Nice Dog Rest Area

Nice little park near Greensboro. We parked outside the gate because it was closed on Southwest Park drive and walked down the path to the park. There wasn’t water when we got there but there was bowls.

    Very Quiet...

Love that you have to walk a small trail to get to it!! And it’s very quiet couple times I went... but it’s very beautiful and decent size....

Great Little Park, No Running Water

This park is wonderful, slightly tucked back in the woods, but super easy to get to. Two sides, one for small dogs and one for large. Perfect place to just let your pups run and play. There isn't running water but the management is good at placing water out in a water dispenser for them to drink!

    Dog fun

Nice well-maintained dog park with lawn and two separate areas, one for large and one for small dogs.

Great dog park...very peaceful..has everything you may need, water, sturdy benches in the shade, trash cans, dog toys....The park staff is very helpful...I had an injury and was worried about the hilly trail from the parking area to the dog park itself..they offered to take me in their golf cart to the site, ..but assured me it looked worse than it really I decided to attempt the glad I did..great trail...and beautiful wooded area...this is a great park to take a hike, bring a picnic, bring the dog, make a day of it!

    Southwest Dog Park

We have been to some of the best dog parks in the US. This one is nothing fancy but is still worth the stop. The South West Park hours were listed as Wed-Sunday so we parked outside the gate like the locals and walked up to the dog park. When looking at the entrance gate there is a nice shed to your left. Walk past the shed on the off parking lot side and follow the dirt trail up the slight hill. The dog park will be on your left about 100-150 yards in. The park had waste bags and cans available on our visit 3/15/16. Set your GPS to 3403 Wall Road but drive past this point to the SW Park entrance. It will be on the left.

Nice park but no other pups to play with!

11/7/15 - We moved to Greensboro from St Pete FL about a month ago. I was surprised at how few dog parks there are here! Decided to try one in the relatively dry weather today. I want to thank the other reviewers who posted directions on how to find the dog park itself! We went by the playground first and totally missed the little path by the maintenance building. The kids and pups loved the mini hike there. The park was completely empty, though I believe that was because of how wet everything was. It's a great open space for my girls - they're both over 40lbs so the cattle fence wasn't an issue. We moved from a house with a yard to an apartment, so as soon as the leashes came off both girls took off and just ran circles! There were some water bowls and a water cooler that I assume is stocked. There's a pvc pipe right outside the gate that had walmart bags inside to pick up poop. There were benches, and a bazillion balls. My girls and kids couldn't have been happier. Only problem.... MOSQUITOES! Bring bug spray. I wasn't prepared for that! All in all it's a great little gem and we're happy that we went!

    Great Park!!

Great dog park. Lots of room for doggies to play. Not too crowded. Maintained really well. Loved walking the trails with my puppy too!

Great - NOT as crowded as other park

yes a little off the beaten path but tucked away via a short hike dirt path then it opens up to over 2 acres of doggy play & fun time for all may not have a lot of dog toy's since sometimes they get mowed over so bring a couple and have A BALL - it's not as crowded as the one on the North side of GSO very peaceful - not everyone knows about this slice of heaven out in the country out past Southern Guilford High School. come on out and have lots of DOG gone Fun Time.... bring all your fur babies.

    Worth a trip!!

Pull in first parking lot on left. You will see 2 ball fields. Between the big maintenance building and a much smaller building to the left of the maintenance building you will see a little sign that says "Dogpark" with an arrow. BEHIND the little building is the path INTO THE WOODS . This path will take you up to the dog park.

    It's There!

We visited this dog park while visiting family in NC. First, it is off the beaten path. When you first turn into the park, there is a small building that has a small sign that says Dog Park with an arrow pointing toward a dirt path. You go for a short hike through the woods which could be a problem for an older person or a disabled person because there are many tree roots in the path. Just when you start to think it can't be back there, you see another small blue sign that says Dog Park and there it is to your left. First, poop bags are not provided. You must bring your own. There is a little dog area, but the park is fenced in cattle fence. Some very small breeds might be able to get through the fence. I'm pretty sure my dachshund could have, but she didn't seem inclined. However, the large dog area is separated from the little dog area by a cattle fence. My dachshund had no problem scooting right under there. She came back because our cockapoo couldn't fit under. Apart from that, it is one of the largest and nicest dog parks we've seen. There's a bit of a wooded area in the small dog area that our dachshund very obviously enjoyed following smells and digging in fall leaves. We will definitely be bringing our little girls again when we visit family in Greensboro.

Found it, not open after 5pm

So we used the 3403 Wall Road to find it in our GPS and the turn was on the left just after where it took us to. The park hours were listed as 8am-5pm Monday thru Sunday, and it was 6pm when we got there, so it was closed. From what we could see it looked nice.

    Quiet, Clean and Friendly

Nov. 2013: Went south down Jonquil Dr. until I arrived at the entrance of the park. I parked at the front of the parking lot and there are arrows pointing to the dog park. You will need to take the trail marked "Wanda's Garden" to get up to the dog park. Not handicap accessible.
The park itself was decent sized and actually had grass and trees. We were alone when we got there but soon two other dogs came. The dogs and owners were all friendly and the owners were conscientious about cleaning up after their dogs. The water is from a giant container with a spout and there are some plastic bowls that could use a good washing. The fences are kept shut with bungee cords (which were not closed when we got there but we secured all the gates.) There is a separate area for large and small dogs as well as a gate in the middle between the two, so check to see that it's closed, because it wasn't when we got there.
Overall I was very pleased with this quiet, tucked-away dog park and will definitely come again.

    Good Park

It's not as crowded as the other dog park in Greensboro. There have been a few times we have gone and there would only be us or one other dog. I do like the different areas for big dogs and small dogs. I just think people don't know about this hidden gem.

    It Exists!

Awesome park. Little ways off the beaten path but worth it. Once you enter the park make your first left and it is on the left before the first building, very easy to drive right by. Well kept with fresh water and all grass with nice seating. Will re-visit often!
