    Great Dog Park

Spring Avenue Dog Park is about 5.25 acres, which is about 450' x 450'...not what I would call "small." Most of the acreage is open field, but there is also a wooded area with trails. Attendance varies, but I have not witnessed more than 10 dogs at any one time. Disposal bags are available along with water during the warmer months. Annual membership is $30 for resident & $75 for non-resident.

Go to the county parks to avoid the Bobs of the world.

People like Bob are the problem at these parks. You're better off at one of the six DuPage county off leash areas. Most people there don't have the archaic "dog will be dogs so let them figure it out" mentality. Responsible dog owners control their dogs, don't allow mounting or other forms of dominance, don't allow resource hoarding. This will happen from time to time, but it is the owner's responsibility to make a correction. At the county parks Forest Preserve Police will make irresponsible owners leave and the rules are clearly posted so people like Bob don't last long there.

First time comers and wk end park lovers

Please read up on dog park's and come educated for the safety of your dog and your understanding. I have been going to this park for 4 years now and never have seen a dog kill another dog. You laugh but when you bring your little doggie and you have his favorite toy. That toy is now any dogs toy because it's there park and the biggest dog wins.
This includes all toys. Second pick up after your dog the bags are a plenty. Third know that all dogs have there way of checking out your dog and letting him in the pack. All owners are close by if the enichiation looks to rough truly they are not going to kill it they might snip at him or tackle him and yes it happens do not pick your dog up. It tells all the dogs your dog is trapped so let's jump on the owner and get that dog. Instead take your dog for a walk heck announce it to all the dogs and start walking. And if your dog is timid bring him in at slow times 7-9 and 1-4 so they can get used to the park and the dogs slowly. And lastly know that dogs run in packs and that means a pack leader controls the pack. The little fights and wresting is all part of getting to know each other. They always have to smell one another. This takes sometime and I've seen it take 10 min. It all depends on your dogs toughness in saying I'm in. Treats never bring them all dogs will smell them and your going to have a war on your hands. Other rules and knowledge you can get from a dog book about dog parks. But i see allot of dog owners come and have no clue and still think they are in there own yard..
    Thank You

This Park is really NOT WORTH $75.00 dollars

The Spring Avenue Dog Park is NOT Worth $75.00 dollars a year it is a SMALL Fenced in Yard. Dupage Dog Park has 6 different dog parks to go and it ONLY $40.00 dollars a year & you have your choice of Dog Parks to go to if you like to. Most of the Dogs are Friendly for sure and really worth a day to be out there
