Rock Creek Park is dog friendly and encompasses 1,754 acres which lie north of the Smithsonian National Zoological Park in Washington, DC. Leashed dogs are welcome to join you when exploring scenic riverfront walking paths such as Western Ridge Trail. Visitors will find numerous picnic areas and other interlinking trails throughout this beautiful urban oasis.

I've gone to Rock Creek park and I guess it's okay. But dogs MUST be on leash. So, it's not the best place to go if you want your dog to be off leash. Even if dogs were allowed off leash, it's close to the highway.

It's a lovely area, but you need to note that dogs must be on leashes in Rock Creek Park. It's the law.
