Look, there are signs that your dogs must be leashed…. but it is obviously where good dog owners and good dogs go to romp around unleashed…. I feel as though most people with bad dogs just don’t go to this park, or they keep their dog leashed while walking around this wonderful park! There is even a water area that my dog loves jumping in a little bit to cool himself off…
For owners who cannot voice-control their dogs, or if you gets upset because people like to let their dogs be free animals (but responsibly free), then this is not the place for you… if you’ve got a good dog, come to Sugar House Park and watch how great the locals are with their dogs!!

This is not an off leash dog park. Please leash your dogs! Fairmont Park has an off leash area not too far from Sugarhouse Park.

We've had great experiences with this park. We bring our long cable and our pup plays and romps! There are always fun canines and people to meet. Grass is clean and well maintained. Creek is shallow and tree lined. Easy walk paths and access to water (although it's better to bring your own)
Downside is there is no off leash area designated. I would not recommend taking your dogs down by the pond. A tremendous amount of people are there so if your dog is skittish or afraid, it's probably to large and busy.

This is a very large public park where piece people bicycle, jog, walk their dogs. There are lots of trees. Dogs need to be leashed. There is water in the spring and summer in the south eastern corner of the park. My dog likes it because she's older and gets to meet other dogs along the way. I like it because there's a coffeehouse just on the upper north western corner across the street.

Most of the park is covered in bark mulch that my dogs did not like. No water provided. Very crowded.
