    Peaceful and quaint

I went to this park today with my dog. I passed it up at first because you almost miss it if you are not from the area. I didn't know that there was a parking lot, so I parked across the street. It is very quiet but a nice place to go and pack a picnic lunch. There are several tombstones for Mr. Terhune's beloved dogs as well as Wayne police dogs. Not extremely big , but a nice place to go and spend an hour or two. Right on the lake. The only reason I didn't give five bones was the amount of geese poop that my dog tried to eat. Walk around, there are also some old, granite benches and a twilight view, out of the way, going towards the top of the park.

    Terhune park

This is a short walk to a beach area that your dog can go swimming. The swimming area can have alot goose scat and It's too close for Me to the road in letting my dog off the leash. There is a large grassy area and some picnic tables.

Worth the visit, in addition to the final resting place of "Lad" the inspiration for Lassie, it also has many notable "permanent" residents to include all of Albert Terhune's beloved collies.
But some of Wayne Police department's finest canine companions as well.
