Barely Any Shade, Not That Great, Under Educated Owners And Aggressive Dogs

been here a few times over a few years with different dogs.

first time back today with our new dog in years. they have a few benches with shade but other than that your exposed to lots of sun. while the park itself it’s a decent size, is very dry and not pleasing to the eye.

there seems to be always a few dogs who shouldn’t be there whether it’s growling and lunging at people, small dogs get bullied, owners not paying attention to their own dogs whether that means their dog taking others toys or not picking up messes. most owners walk on their cell phones talking. Louisville dog park is not far away and a lot better option for trees with some shade and probably close in size to these 6 acres.

it’s hard to find places that are one or five bones, but this is close to a one review just from multiple experiences with different dogs over the last 13 years.

Great park but there are always aggressive dogs

I’ve brought my dog here a handful of times since he was a puppy, each time hoping it would be a better experience because this park is SO close and convenient. Almost every time there are aggressive dogs with owners who do NOTHING about them. This Saturday 11/3, a shepherd mix was harassing my dog (a very timid/submissive bulldog mix) and I was shooing the dog away as it growled at my dog for 15 minutes, looking around for its owner to take responsibility and pull it away from my poor dog. Eventually the other dog attacked mine and my roommate and I both had to physically pull the two dogs apart. Then the owner finally walked up but he was on his cell phone the whole time, said nothing and ignored us. Luckily my dog had only a few minor scratches (the other dog had none from what I could tell) and is up to date on vaccines.

This is NOT the first time this has happened at this park. Please be wary of bringing your dogs here, especially if they are timid and reactive. Many of the regulars, like the man and his shepherd mix (I have seen them here before) are irresponsible and inattentive.

    great park

This park is large and there is a track that goes around the perimeter so everyone can get a little exercise. Multiple benches with covers. well maintained overall. There are still people that bring dogs that arent so nice but not nearly as many as the big dry creek park. There are lots of water bowls and most people are good enough to bring a gallon of water with them. There is no water fountain.

    Great dog park!

We are visiting from Tennessee and this is the biggest dog park we have ever been to. I really liked the small and timid dog section with the large dogs section around it. It helped my timid dog feel like she was able to run around safely with the "scary" dogs on the other side of the fence. When we did venture into the big dog section and another dog scared her the owner immediately called him away. That never happens at our park at home. There was water and everything was clean.

    Well kept

I had been meaning to try this park out for a little while now and finally took the chance. My girl and I were enjoying the park, it had some grass and it was clean. I would like a trash can a little closer to the park it self. We only got to enjoy the park for 10 minutes or so until someones dog had started not 1 but 2 serious fights. She refused to leave with her shepherd mix, so the majority of the people left the park. But I will go back again

    Friendly, mostly clean park

We have been coming to this park several times a week for the last 6 months. We loveit. Three loops is about 1 mile. People and dogs are very friendly and in general very good about picking up the poop (not so good on weekends). There is a bathroom for humans with antibiotic spray (no running water), and in general there is a strong feeling of ownership by the regulars. Some people (like me) make a general habit of picking up extra poop (I do because I have a stealth dog and figure I miss hers sometimes). People bring home empty gallon bottles and return them filled, and the park provides good dog poop bags. Great place for sunsets--great views of the front range. Highly recommend this park.

    Great Community

not sure what the previous poster was talking about. The dogs all run and play together and their humans are friendly and social. People walk the circular path around the outside of the park while their dogs run free. Have never seen the lack of interaction mentioned above - I am there every day!

    Great park

Get for first time dog Parker's or older dogs. I have a very high energy medium sized dog and she loves it there. People are very friendly and they watch there dogs to make sure no one is too aggressive . This is our favorite go to park!

    Not a friendly place

This was the oddest dog park I've ever been to! None of the dogs were permitted to interact with other dogs. Maybe a good place to train your dog to walk near you off leash with distractions but not for play or socialization. What a shame since it's a big park.
