Stephens State Forest
Check out the pet-friendly Stephens State Forest located in the Chariton, IA area. Leashed dogs are welcome at this forest that boasts more than 15,500 acres across seven units, the Lucas Unit, Whitebreast Unit, Woodburn Unit, Cedar Creek Unit, Chariton Unit, Thousand Acres Unit and Unionville Unit. There are also over 30 miles of roads and trails to hike and bike, and year-round campsites.
