DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge
Visit the pet-friendly DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge in Missouri Valley, IA. Leashed furry friends are welcome at this 8,365-acre historic park, which features plenty of opportunities for bird watching at DeSoto Lake and various historic timepieces, such as the Bertrand Steamboat. Dogs are permitted on the grounds but must be on a six-foot leash and cleaned up after. Pups are not permitted in the visitor center.
