Bonus Creek after Long Driving Day

Traveling from MN to GA and stopping at dog parks every evening. Macon's Dog Park was spacious and well-equipped with agility structures, water spigots, picnic tables and seating benches. After several long driving days, the creek was huge, wild, messy fun for our dog. Bring a towel for wiping down! The grounds are nicely-maintained with areas for owners to walk and sit in the sun or shade.

    Perfect for any dog!

We were in Macon for several days (Gabbafest). Took our border collie to this park the first day and were sold. Returned everyday we were in town.
Pros: Lots of space for a few or bunches of dogs (talking
    acres here).
    Well maintained.
Separate large dog, small dog, agility areas.
    Stream, picnic tables & benches.
TOP PRO: Water provided with short hose, leash holder, and cement pad. Perfect for rinsing your pet after it has played in stream and running area.
Hints (not really cons) Be sure to have your own plastic poop bags.
Be careful driving into parking lot. The entrance could use a little gravel for smoothness.

    Muddy Approved

We have taken our 9 month aussiedoodle, Muddy Waters, here multiple times now since moving to Macon. He absolutely loves it. There is a lot of space for him to run around and he finally started venturing down into the creek when we visit to help cool off. They even do events there for the holidays. We went to the Thanksgiving one just this past weekend and it was really cute. Kudos to those running it to remember that not all dogs can have chicken/poultry and having items for those sensitive stomach pups!

    Best dog park ever!

visited with my greyhound who is finicky about where he roams - and he was visibly impressed by the size, cleanliness and the clear stream that he waded in. only one other dog was there which was too bad and understandable in the midday heat. this was a great stop and worth getting off the highway to stop by.

    Space to Play

We stopped at this park during our travels based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Our dog was greeted by several larger dogs, but we ended up going across the bridge to a big open grassy space to fetch balls. Several dogs were enjoying water play.

    Good Park

We took our 5 month old German Shepherd puppy here for the first time today. Plenty of area for her to run and play with the other dogs and she loved the stream that ran through the park (though the back seat of my car did not). The other owners were friendly and there is a nice fenced area for smaller dogs to play as well. Dogs of all sizes played well together and all the other owners seemed to responsible and monitor their dogs. The only downside is there is damage from a recent flooding and a section of the fence is down so the dogs could escape if you don’t watch them closely or don’t have a well trained dog. Also all the bridges are down and the gate between the large and small dog area is currently held together with grocery bags (it appears other owners tried to remedy the problem with what they had on hand. I’m sure once the damage is fixed the park will be even better. There are conveniently located poop bags and trash cans as well as water bowls and wash stations for the dogs and all owners seemed to pick up after their dogs. We will definitely be going back!

Open Space, Lots Of Shade, Very Clean

We were headed north on 75 and stopped here, fabulous place w meandering creek and lots of shady spots in midday heat, let our dog get wiggles out before heading north. It is tucked back in quiet neighborhood, look for black iron fence, our gps didnt quite get it right. Will make this stop on way back south.

    Fun Place

We liked that it had two sections for different sized dogs. There was a nice Creek in the main section that our dog enjoyed cooling off at. Only thing I’d wish is that they had a water cool off in the small dog section.

    Possibly the best dog park

My 2.5 year old malamute has traveled roughly 25,000 miles and has visited a lot of dog parks. This park appears to be her favorite. Lots of friendly dogs and nice people, plenty of space to run, shade, grass, and the wonderful creek. This park is our reason to spend a night in Macon whenever possible.

    Great park!

My dogs were completely ecstatic when we got there. So much room to run and play off leash. There’s a lot of land with a good amount of shade and a nice creek for the dogs to play in. Separate area for smaller dogs if needed. Pretty easy to get to, right off 75. Everyone including their dogs were very nice and friendly.

    a great park

Stopped here during a long distance drive to give the pup a chance to run. Huge park, separate small and large dog areas, very clean. Small creek and water hoses. Other owners and pets very friendly. A great find- Wish other parks were as nice!

I would move to Macon just to go to the dog park!

Beautiful, expansive fenced-in park. The creek running through the park was a much-appreciated and fun diversion. Located in a really cute neighborhood, easily accessible from I-75. I would consider moving to Macon just to be able to go back to this park!

    Awesome!

We were on vacation camping at nearby lake tobesofkee and wanted to find a local fog park. This place was awesome! My dog loves water and you couldn't get her out of that creek! Lots of space to run and beautiful area under the trees to watch the dogs play! You need to check it out for sure!

    FABULOUS!

We stopped here while on a road trip and my dog LOVED it. One of the best dog parks we've ever been to. Well worth the 15 minute drive from our hotel. Very spacious, creek, agility obstacles, and super awesome dogs and owners. Can't recommend enough.

    Great dog park!!

I live here and take my two dogs to this park at least once a week if not more often. It is very spacious and one of my dogs loves jumping in the little creek that runs through it. There is some shade with benches in the center for humans to rest in the summer. There is a little pavilion where they sometimes have live music during Yappy Hour during summer months. They have even added a little library where you can read books while there. There is a little agility course and also a separate small dog fenced area for breeds 25 lbs and smaller. It is a really big park so there is tons of room for your dogs to run!!

    Total package for fun!

Our Siberian Husky acted like he had died and gone to heaven. Watching our dog race over the creek Bridges and playing with some very friendly dogs prompted my husband to say, "Tyler's Park was reason enough to move to Macon."

Your dog(& you), will love this park !

I moved to Ga in2011& looked right away for a dog park. My3 largedogs are regulars & absolutely love this park ! Tyler's Place is an exceptional dog park. 2 seperate fully fenced spacious areas for sm & lg dogs. A very well maintained park with a gazebo, many chairs & benches. There is a huge pecan tree that provides a shady seating area to chat with other dog parents. A water fountain for the dogs is available as well as a creek for your pup to take a dip in. There is agility equipment, 2 bridges, & several bins to put your pet waste in & even pooper scoopers & bags are available. This a free, off leash park that is lit up like a football stadium @ night for those of you who can't make it during the day. Parking is ample. It is a beautiful place to bring your dog so you can both socialize. Please remember to pick up after your pet & keep an eye on him/her @ all times. Dogs need to be on a leash when entering & exiting the park. When a "new" dog is coming into the
park, often other dogs will gather @ the gates entrance. Sometimes this can cause chaos as the new dog enters the park, so please watch your dog closely. Rules are posted @ the entrance. Please, please, don't bring your toddler into the park. And for gosh sakes, don't bring an infant in a stoller! Remember, dogs are animals & can have a bad day. All dogs do not necessarily like one another.
Please visit Tyler's park often, your dog will love you for it !

    Wonderful park!

This is a great park. The people and dogs are very friendly. There is an agility course for the dogs and a fun stream to play in. Don't wear nice clothes, though, they sure won't stay that way!

    Tyler's Place

Not far off I--75 we came across this park traveling north from Florida. Well maintained, it was a convenient spot for our dogs to run off-leash. There's an expansive park for large dogs and a separate well sized lot for the smaller breeds. One of the best dog parks we came across. Thank you Tyler!
