    Not open to public!

Drove out of my way to come and it’s “members only” and requires a key card. Many “members” saw me and none offered to let me in. don’t go unless you’re a “member”.

    Great Park

We stopped at this park while visiting the area and it was very nice. There are a lot of mature trees in the middle that provide shade for the dogs to run in the scorching IL heat and open areas around the perimeter. There were benches for the humans and water provided for the dogs. The people were friendly and welcoming.

    Amazing

We were in town visiting family and stopped at the Urbana dog park for our first time. It was a great experience for our dog especially considering he loves to wrestle and can be a bit rough. The area is so big and has multiple areas of prairie, forest, and a bit of unintentional marshes that are great for all dogs. There are water bowls there already and a small designated area for small dogs. I recommend bringing a rag or towel to clean of your dog because they can get really muddy by the time you leave. If you don’t pay the membership of $38 annually then there is a $5 fee that is submitted through a honor system booth.

    Really wonderful dog paradise!

10 acres of fun for any dog! The park has different terrain -- an open field, a couple of areas of higher prairie grass, and a large central wooded areas (almost always with a few stupid squirrels). There are a limited number of benches placed in shady spots. There's a 6' high chain link fence that is well-grounded all the way around -- which is nice, considering I have a "jumper" who would consider the typical 4' fence to be simply a challenge, not a deterrent). There are a supply of waste bags at the front gate -- grab one when you go in, because it's the only station, and if you're on the other end of the park when you need one, it's a looong walk back. There is a small-dog section, if needed. The larger section has a water fountain for humans and dogs, and there's a bathing station. (Both are cut off at the end of October and not turned back on until spring, so it's really for only half a year.) The area is well maintained, but unfortunately, some humans don't seem to feel responsible for filling in holes their dogs have dug. The area right inside the front gate is mulched, but often dug up in areas, and tends to be pretty muddy after a rain. Bring bug spray in the summer -- those flies can be very annoying (but hey, it's Illinois.) The humans are generally friendly, and I've never seen a dog fight -- there's so much room for dogs to give each other room. The park is open to permit holders (a special tag for their collar) or for guests who pay $5 at an honor-system booth just outside the door. There is a porta-potty there for humans, too.
