2 Stars may be a generous rating

The locals elected not to have the park closed for annual maintenance and it's really gone downhill. The amazing grass is now about 50% gone and the remaining 50% is clumps and weeds. The dirt flies when the dogs run. The small dog area is a small park and wasn't ideal size to begin with, but okay. The grass used to be the main attraction. There is a decent cement patio area for humans to sit. There is a tarp strung up for shade. No.or limited shade over play area. Water fountain. Free parking, but undersized parking lot and no street parking immediately right there. Still better than nothing, I suppose. I do hope it doesn't further deteriorate as this would make it even less useable/attractive. Portable restroom on site.

    Small but better than nothing

Small area recently reopened at end of March and has grass(!), but is ideally would love to see it larger. Large area was not redone yet and was dusty. Limited parking pot, busy street. Portable restrooms on site.

    Nice Sandy Park

Great park, a bit dusty because of the sand. Owners of other dogs were friendly and everyone watched their dogs carefully.

    Nice Neighborhood Dog Park!

Easy access, well-maintained. Dog owners all do a good job picking up after their dogs. Lots of “regulars” come here. Never a dull moment.

Not a safe dog park because of aggressive dogs are “regulars”

My 60 lb Lab has been attacked by aggressive dogs 2 of the 6 times I have been there.

I have been there 6 times in the last year and I will not go back.

The people are nice. Some are dog owners & some are dog walkers. There are often aggressive dogs that the owners/walkers scold for being aggressive from the park bench. Every once is a while someone will get up to curb the aggressive dog but it is not the norm.

    Not near a beach

Just an fyi for anyone looking to go here. This dog park is small and nowhere near the beach.

    Great Dog Park

We have been taking our 15 lb. terrier to Capehart Park for about one month. We were very reluctant to go to a dog park at first, after hearing horror stories of mixed size dog parks. We have been so pleasantly surprised at how these small dogs play in an area just for under 30 lbs. They race around, tumble, sniff, chase each other and don't want to leave. The owners there are all very friendly, making it a nice experience. They self police the area and make sure the dogs don't get out of hand. Everything is clean and there are plastic bags provided. There are 3 and 4 lb. chihuahuas playing with all the other breeds, making it a fun and entertaining time. We're having as much fun as the dogs and the best part is knowing it's safe for them to play. .
