Big park but dogs were a bit aggressive

We stopped in for a run in the morning. There were about five dogs and owners. My dog was chased around for several minutes but when she tired and I pulled her to the side to give her a break, two other large dogs did not relent. My pup ended up with a split in her ear. We left and only one guy in the group took his dog out. The others ignored me when I said that there was blood on my dog. It’s a beautiful park and some workers actually drove over so I could follow them to find the spot. However, in all our travels, this is the only place where my dog has come out injured.

Tricky to find but glad we did

We were passing through and wanted Hayden to have some exercise. very clean, well maintained, things to climb on, fresh water to drink.

    Busy Dog Park

This is a very busy local dog park. We went in the morning and the evening, and many of the same dogs were present. The owners were attentive to their dogs when we were there. The dogs all played well together and had a good time. My dog is a very easy-going dog and started playing right away, so we had no issues. The park seemed well maintained when we were there. It is initially a little difficult to find with gates being closed. The interstate noise did not seem to bother any dogs.

    Nice location, disappointing dog park

This dog park is located inside a large, beautiful park with ball fields, playgrounds, a pool, trails, and ample parking, BUT the dog park was hard to find, has very little parking nearby, it's next to a major highway (highway noise was bad), grass was really long, and the ground was super wet. Thankfully, there were two sides, for small dogs and large dogs, bc when we got there, we were greeted by an aggressive dog, which we watched dominating other dogs while it's owner sat at the picnic table not doing/saying anything, so we were able to stay in a separate area. However, it wasn't long before we wanted to leave bc the park was just not maintained well. We had to keep the dog on the leash at the rest of the park, but it was better than being at that dog park :(

    Membership no longer required.

The dog park is updated and now free to the public. Do be careful, some dogs are unruly/slightly aggressive. This is a place where you always want to be watching your dog but if you come at the right time and its only good dogs, then this place is AMAZING!

    Awesome

As of april 2019, gate is always open for public and no fees! My dog loved the spacious park and the other pups!

    Not very welcoming

I went to check it out and join (pay fee) but the times were limited and entry is a real hassle. I've never seen such a complicated procedure for a dog park. When we travel, other parks are very welcoming and user-friendly. Didn't join. Unfortunately, can't recommend.

    Sad

I understand that parks take maintenance...but locking the gate and keeping people's I.D and money may not be the right move.
More and more people are travelling with their dogs and rely heavily on dog parks for playtime on that long drive. If a tourist drives into your city and finds the dog park locked...well, lets just say that I wasn't a fan of Winchester. I was not giving you my I.D. - If I"m paying then get off your butt and unlock it for me and keep your precious key.
Fortunately, we met a very nice man who opened the gate for us...he did so because we were tourists. We had a great chat - but won't be back to Winchester.
