    Big park

Big park with separate areas for large and small dogs. Plus for having a dog wash station. Minus for having a large deck with stairs at the entrance to the large dog area. watched several dogs slip and fall running around on it.

    Closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays

the park looks nice however after going out of our way to go to the park we found a hand written sign saying the parks are closed on Tuesday’s and thursdays and the gates were all locked. not sure why the park needs to be closed for two days out of the week every week but at least advertise this fact better!!

    Bad for small dogs

This is not a small dog friendly park. It is also not all that well maintained, I've seen many fights, rude owners who don't pick up after their dogs, and even some owners who drop their dogs off and leave! It is quite close to my house and convenient to LSU and may be just fine for larger breeds.

    Worst of the few

This park is apparently clean and apart from the tiny unkempt small dog area it looks nice.
However, I have been to this dog park about six times and have witnessed five dog fights.
My first experience was my best and it just went downhill from there...

    Nice Park

There is a small dog area in this park. It is located in the center and behind the benches and under a large tree. This park is very nice and well kept, however some pet owners are irresponsible with picking up after their pet but for the most part it is not bad. There is lots of room for the dogs to run and play and lots of benches under shade trees for owners.

    pleasant place

I happen to like this park. I agree the description is misleading, as there is no small dog area. Other than that it's great. There is enough room for my Great Dane to run. Everyone I have interacted with has been very attentive to their dogs (and there dogs poop). Also they keep the grass green and mowed. It's one of my favorite places in Baton Rouge

    Not for small dogs

This park was acceptable...large enough for plenty of run/play. I didn't see the issues with feces being left and dogs not being attended to that some other reviewers mentioned. However, for this to say that there is a separate area for small dogs is misleading. The "small dog area" is no more than a small fence circle around a tree. Smaller than a bedroom. It might be good for tiny 2-3 lb dogs, but not for the average small dog. If your dog can't handle playing with big boys then this is not the bark for you!

Our dog and we love going to this dog park. Dogs interact well and at the first sign of difficulty owners intervene. We have been to this park numerous times and it is safe for dogs and owners. There is plenty of grass and benches for owners to rest in shade while supervising our pet.

    Free for all

When we first arrived in Baton Rouge, we went to this park because it was the only one that we knew of. Contrary to the description, there is no large/small dog separation. Few owners were paying any attention to their dogs, resulting in a lot of dog poop everywhere. Some owners were also "checked out" while their dogs were mounting other dogs right in front of them. Lots of children from the adjacent playground were frequently coming and going, trying to interact with any dogs that they could reach. This place really needs some oversight to keep it under control. As it is, it feels like the wild west of dog parks.
