  A lot of space

  I have a large German shepherd and I love bringing her to this park because she can run off leash and get all her energy out. I’ve always had a positive experience with the dogs and people here.

  Tragedy Waiting to Happen

  This is a terrible dog park. Enter at your own risk. Dogs run wild in packs attacking more submissive ones looking to join a group. No one even pays attention to where their dog is off leash, nor intercede when problems arise. It stinks! Literally. Went on a weekday looking to avoid the weekend overcrowding and the smell drove us back to the car. There is poop everywhere. Owners watch their dogs 💩 and do nothing to clean up. I wish this City of Pasadena would close this awful place, but unfortunately, it’s going to take a terrible occurrence to even consider a cleanup or change in policy.

  nasty people

  So many unaltered and aggressive dogs. If you are new to the park, your dog will get blamed for everything. People without dogs hang out with the pups. One woman even photographed dog fights with the excuse that she was shooting a coffee table book so it was ok to be there. Then offered an excuse that she didn’t need permission because she published a photo in a magazine or some such nonsense. I repeatedly asked her not to shoot my dog and she said “I thought you were kidding.”

  Poop Park!

  There is so much dog poop here, why bother having poop bags! You can’t walk without having to look where you step. Really people, how difficult is it to watch when you dog poops and pick it up? Be a responsible dog owner, the bags are provided for a reason!

  Well maintained dog park

  High marks for a park with ample grass and space to run. We recently visited on a Saturday afternoon and found the park busy but not crowded. Despite some of the reviews, it was largely devoid of dog poop and inattentive owners. Also easy parking access.

  Pick up after your dog

  My dog and I have visited dog parks from Encino to La Crescenta to Arcadia and this is by far the filthiest. Stools everywhere, even on Wednesdays, one day after it's been closed for maintenance. And while some are impressed by the grass surface, wear and tear quickly reduces the center to a rocky moonscape every few months, despite the best efforts of Pasadena public works to keep things green.

  This is moot with me, however. My 40-pound spaniel was viciously attacked there by a hundred-pound akita, whose inattentive owner eventually strolled over to make a tepid attempt at controlling his dog. This came after a string of other incidents involving aggressive, unsocialized dogs; in every case, my dog was minding her own business, quietly nosing around, when she was attacked.

  Kudos to the people who made Alice's Dog Park a reality, but now it's time for some of the dog owners there to undergo obedience training.

  Good place, but....

  My aussie pup loves to go run at the dog park- he has lots of friends and always has a great time.
  However, he has also had 3 severe bacterial infections needing urgent care and lotsof tests and meds at a cost of nearly $3000.
  The dog park is the only place he could have picked up such awful illnesses. The water fountains can get blocked up and dirty and grimy. You also can't guarantee that everyones dogs are up to date on vaccines and the dogs being brought in are 100% healthy ( i kept my pup home for 2 weeks after each bout of illness until I was certain he was 100% well)
  We now try to take our own water bottle and bowl with us.
  Also, PLease when you're there watch your dog and pick up after him! I'm so sick and tired of dodging poop

  Grassy Play Time

  I took Archer here yesterday after we went to the Herman Dog Park in Highland Park. This one was much better than I thought. It is located in the Vina Vieja Park on the right asa you enter. There was plenty of parking there even though it was quite busy. The play area for the small dogs is quite large with plenty of seating and a water fountain. I kept Archer on the leash inside this area though b/c he has alot of spirit and is new to the dog park scene. He doesn't realize he size and just plows over all the pups! It is quite funny to watch him interact, but I didn't want the smaller pups to get hurt. The people there were all very friendly and seemed to know each other. After awhile I took Archer into the large dog area. What I did like was that there were 3 doors that you have to go through in order to get into the large dog area. This prevents any escapes from happening. Again, I kept him on the leash to get him used to this park, but eventually let him run free. He found a friend in a beautiful black lab name Silas. The were running all over the place, but Archer is way too fast for the Lab to catch him! My problem is that Archer is too large for the small dog park and too small for the large dog park, but he will grow. Anyway there are some rules to this park that I didn't see at the others. Among others, your dog must be licensed to enter this park. This may be true for all the dog parks, but I didn't see it listed on the other one that we went to. Overall I give this park a huge "Paw" up and will definitely be returning, even though it is farther from my house.

  Watch out

  My dog was severely bitten and clawed at the park and no one took responsibility or came over to check on her. Clearly there was a vicious dog there - as she is a very calm and playful dog who has no aggression in her. It is reprehensible that someone brought a bad dog and not only that, did not pay attention to what the dog was doing. It has cost us hundreds of dollars and we don't know if she will avoid a serious infection. This is a tragedy and only because someone was callous enough to pay no attention to what their dog was doing. This makes the park very dangerous.

  Alice's Dog Park

  Good park to take your pooch. My only criticism is that the grass is not really flat, but full of small "mounds." Probably not a problem for most dogs but mine has torn off the upper front paw nail. Otherwise the only park I know that has actually grass.
