    Evil tick place

It's such a beautiful place and I loved how there is a sign in sheet! But I will never go back. The ticks there are fast hunters. While I was brushing my dog after our walk, the ticks ran up the brush onto my arms. Ones that fell off quickly got back on my legs or my dog's. For all that beauty this park has, we leave it to the ticks. Didn't see one deer...

Very big, very pretty. Small playground BUT TICK CITY!!! OMG my Yellow LAb on Frontline had 12 on her and we just walked the field!!! GEEZ!! UH, time to spray, even if ya have to close it for a week!!! Hammer the population one time.

    Ticks, ticks, ticks

I'm so glad I didn't bring my dogs here!
We went hiking at Wells Mills yesterday. We hiked 5 miles. I literally pulled over 50 ticks off myself during and after the hike, including about 8 lodged in my skin. I didn’t use tick repellent, but stayed on trails the whole time–no off-trail hiking.
It’s memorial weekend and there was hardly anyone there. When we got there we were wondering why–now we know.

Inaccurate inofrmation alert! Not what I consider dog friendly!

While the park welcomes LEASHED dogs on the hiking trails, dogs are not allowed swimming in the lake at all. I just called and the person I spoke to verified with the 'chief' that dogs are not allowed in the lake.
Note: We actually avoid the trails, too unless it's mid winter because there's sooo many ticks in the warmer months. But mid winter, we love this park.
Too bad about dogs not being allowed to swim here! :( I don't know how many people look at the reviews so I can only hope that the website changes the inaccurate info.
