    Great Time

My Rottweiler “ Riley” is friendly and plays with any dog big small aggressive playful or submissive he just wants to make a friend and play. He had a great time with all the dogs that wanted to play with him and they’re owners were nice as well. I’m the real anti-social one lol. but all and all great experience.

    Great for socializing

we have a rescue puppy who needs socializing, this was perfect. great location, nice people, and clean area. Bring your own water between October and May - they shut off taps for winter.

Great place for off leash play.

It was nice to let the dogs burn off steam before walking around the busy shopping streets. Surrounded by Tennis, basketball, playground etc.

    Too small for active dogs

We took our GSP to this park and found a 4 foot high fence around a very small sand enclosed space. Clearly this is meant for older dogs or small dogs; active dogs will be slightly disappointed.

    bittersweet

Nice park but very rude people. People bring their small dogs into the big dog area & then get mad when your dog goes up to them. Would love to bring my dog here more often but always leave in a bad mood.

    Needs sprucing up

Generally nice folks and generally nice dogs but people need to leave their children under 12 elsewhere as they're NOT allowed in the park for safety sake (theirs and the dogs), even with an adult. And for Pete's sake, be smart and don't bring in food. The place needs sprucing up and more shade for humans and pets but we've had good times there.

    Not a bad dog park

Not a bad City Dog Park. Owners need to clean up after their dogs in the grass area, Not a fault of the park!. Nice to see agility training stuff. Very good size. Need a little more shade for owners. Don't be swayed by the one bone comment. Not a bad experience. It gave my dog a chance to run and run and run!!

    Portsmouth mill pond park

Has an enclosed area for both large and small dogs. Water and bowls. Great little off leash park. Friendly owners as well.

    Local

South Mill is an ok place to take your dog for a pee, but the real gem in Portsmouth is Pierce Island. The path is a 1/4 mile wooded loop, with water on 3 sides. It also features a large grass field for running and playing with other dogs. Dogs are welcome off-leash on the whole end of the island.
