Edgar Felix Memorial Bikeway

The Edgar Felix Memorial Bikeway is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Farmingdale! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Edgar Felix Memorial Bikeway. Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has generously provided map data for this trail to Bring Fido for informational purposes only. For more detailed trail information, please visit TrailLink.com. Very pretty but there are ticks and chiggers

I visited in late August and was impressed with the beauty. Very lush. I let my dogs wander and there's plenty of space to find quiet and isolation, and plenty of other trails with cyclists and hikers.

However, I got bit by chiggers. What an intense itch they left! It was my first experience with chigger bites. Just be warned that there are chiggers and ticks here...a lot of them.
