The entire park is gorgeous with different paths you can walk your dog. There is a large unfenced leashless area for them to run around. The area can be a bit muddy and it is surrounded by sidewalks where bicyclists and joggers are so make sure your dog is under command.

I however, have a small terrier mix that will bolt towards squirrels and is fearful of large dogs. I am in the park almost daily and have seen a range of bad behavior. People let their dogs off leash outside of the off leash area where dogs have no sense of recall, don't listen AT ALL and have come charging towards me and my dog outside of the off leash area. Luckily the park is huge and there are 2-3 paths you can take on either side of the park and most people abide by the leash rules in the park. The off leash area with no fence is in the center of the park directly across from the pond and there are clearly marked signs where the off leash section is and how your dog should be leashed otherwise. I wish people followed the rules. It would be even better if Laurelhurst put up a fence for the dogs. The park is huge and it's a shame the dog park doesn't have a fence.
