- CynthiaSep 21, 2023Nice convenient dog park
our 2 pups had a great time sniffing trees , pine cones & bark dust. overall other dogs well behaved & under owners’ control. Running water and poop bags outside gated areas. Didn’t see any poop on ground.
- Liz-eFeb 23, 2022It’s our favorite dog park.
There are 3 separate fenced areas. One is for small dogs. Lots of trees. Nice people and dogs.

Be careful of pairs of dogs who bully smaller ones. Two white huskies attacked my puppy. The owners verbally assaulted me for getting upset instead of controlling their dogs. Reported the incident to Animal Control but they can't do much.

This is one off the gated parks we frequent both on our own and for Corgi meet ups.
Most of the dogs and their owners have been great. There are trees to protect owners from sun and rain. There is water and poop bags available.
They have a small dog area, but we have just as much fun in the mixed dog area.
Does get muddy. - KellyFeb 2, 2018Loved it!
My dog Archie is a rescue. For his 3rd birthday, I decided we'd go to the dog park for the first time and he had a blast. He is nervous of big dogs and I love that I can bring him here and he is comfortable. It's so great that this park is close to inner Portland, fenced in, and has separated areas for dogs of different sizes. There are two big dog sections and one small dog section. There is also and area of benches to sit down on inside the small dog section as well as a double gate. The small dogs can still sniff through the fence at the big dogs, which is great and helps Archie learn that big dogs are OK. I didn't see poop anywhere and everyone was very friendly!

Very few take responsibility for their dogs behavior

My dogs and I have gone to Normandale Park a dozen times since moving to the area and have never had anything but a positive experience--no aggressive dogs (muzzled or otherwise) and no delinquent poop scooping. The only issue we've ever had was a dog owner who thought it was okay to kick another dog owner's excited puppy when it tried to play with him. If you don't like dogs, don't come to the dog park.
It's a nice space for the dogs to run and play in. I particularly like that it's separated into three areas--one for dogs under 25lbs in particular and two other fenced in areas in case there are two many dogs on one side or dogs aren't playing well with one another. - LaurenMore than a year agoNot coming back
The first thing I noticed when we pulled up was that there were at least 5 dogs there that were muzzled. I don't understand why anyone would bring aggressive dogs to the dog park! There was one very large husky looking dog that was muzzled and kept attacking other dogs. The other thing I noticed was all the signs stating that this dog owner owes this dog owner money for vet bills from an attack. I won't be back to this park, too many people with aggressive dogs here.
- AnonymousMore than a year agotoo much poop!
This is a fantastic sized dog park but initially looks nicer than it actually is. I went on a Sunday morning so it was very crowded which isn't my ideal. It would be more enjoyable if there were fewer people and dogs. But my big issue with this park is that no one picks up their dog poop! I stepped in not one but TWO different piles of dog poop in the twenty minutes I was there. I believe that the woodchips makes the poop even harder to see so its easy to step in a ton of it! Ugh, I will not go back here just because it felt dirty. Bummer, it has the potential to be a very nice space.
