    Fun to explore

Depending on the entrance you start at, there are a variety of trails ranging from steep fire roads to meandering singletrack. We hiked for about 1.5 hours on New Almaden Trail and it was shady and cool but narrow (poison oak).

Hot, Dry, and Full of poison ivy!

These trails are great for hikers with stamina. We took our poodle mixes and it was too much for them - turned back about a mile and a half in. Pretty steep hills, everything is dead and dry because of the drought.. Except for poison ivy! It's all over the place back on the trails. It's just close enough the cleared path to brush against the dogs, so be careful. And bring water!
