Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail
The Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in King George! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail. If you're looking for a quiet and scenic walk through the county, this is a great place to check out. This rails-to-trails path is not maintained often, but the gravel trail still is a lot of fun and great if you want to avoid the crowds.
