Veterans Memorial Park

The dog-friendly Veterans Memorial Park in Hamilton, NJ, is a 333-acre park that was built in honor of Hamilton's veterans in 1977. Approximately four miles of walking trails are sprinkled through wooded areas, with intermittent picnic grounds, rest stops, athletic fields, a large lake, and a dog park. The dog park has a well maintained, fenced-in, off-leash play area. There is a separate enclosure for large and small dogs with double-entry gates. Both areas offer agility equipment and obstacle courses, benches, poop bags and trash receptacles. A doggie water fountain is just outside the dog park entrance. Visit Website

    Small dog park

The dog park is decent, but not one of the bigger ones in the area. It does have some agility objects like tunnels and climbers. My dog loves when there's things to climb on... There is partial rock partial grass terrain and the rocks do help when it's been raining. We have met very nice dogs and attentive owners here, but I would only go here for convenience as the dog park could be bigger.

    Fun & crazy times

This park is beautiful. The small dog area of the dog park is a bit lacking in space. Usually, we find wonderful dogs & people there, with a few exceptions. We don't like to be around dogs whose owners don't keep the pup's rear end clean. Just sayin'. And when there are entire families there with one dog, it gets to be a bit much. But when neither of these scenarios play out, it's a great place for my furball to run around!

    Wish it was bigger

Overall not a bad dog park, as long as long as you don't go when it's crowded. The small dog side really is quite small and it gets crowded easily. My dog is appropriately sized for either side of the park, but we hesitate to go on the big dog side when there are more than 1 or 2 other dogs because I've seen fights break out over on that side.

    Great dog park!

Although not much shade is available, this dog park is great! The people, and their pets, are friendly and welcoming. A nice perk for our high taxes.

Nice for a walk on the leash

good Park if you wish to walk your dog on a leash, nice path ways which are shaded. You can do an hour walk easy. the off leash area is okay not too big however there is enough area why you aren't on top of everyone.

    The time of his life!

This park is clean, easy to find, and was full of friendly owners and even friendlier dogs. My 8-month-old mutt had a BLAST socializing with dogs and humans alike. He made sure that he befriended every living being in the park, and it made his day when he got the shy ones to play with him. We will definitely be regulars from now on!

    Excellent park

Veterans' Park is a terrific park in general, and the dog park (at the southern end of the park, accessible from the Kuser Road entrance) is really great.

It is pretty well-maintained, and the dogs (and people) we see there are friendly and welcoming.

The only negative thing is that there's not a lot of shade, so if the weather is hot and sunny we go in the early morning or in the evening just before dusk.

This park has 2 great off leash sections. One is for dogs 40 lbs and under and the other section is for the big pups. Both sections have ramps, tunnels and hoops for the dogs to jump through and on. it also has a water fountain poop bags ad a double gate system for those overly excited dogs. Best of yet it's free to anyone!!!
