  Great Day!

  We got there around 9:30am and spent the day at the beach. It was a great day! The beaches are clean but watch the parking lots. I did see a broken glass bottle (even though glass isn’t allowed on the beach.) We will definitely be going back!!

  Great Beaches!

  The beaches here are so nice, so clean. Not crowded at all, and there were a decent amount of people with their dogs. Only issue can be parking, as the public parking is spread out and small. I recommend getting here early before the 11am crowd.

  We enjoyed our day at the beach. We highly suggest planning a trip to the beach if you are around the area.

  Love Oak Island for it's very dog-friendly beaches and it's low-key, relaxing beach vibes. Wonderful place to vacation!!

  Great Island

  I used to live on Oak Island! It truly is a fabulous place to visit with dogs. Many of the beach rentals allow pets making it the perfect vacation spot!

  Wonderful Pup-Friendly Beach Vacation!

  We had an excellent time with our two dogs at Oak Island in June of 2015. Because it was peak season, we kept our 6 month old puppy and 8 year old dog leashed, but had a great time walking them up and down the beaches, playing in the surf and staying in a dog-friendly, ocean-front house. There were many other dogs for them to meet and play with, and just about every family we encountered was happy to be around dogs. We had an excellent time and will definitely bring our dogs back to Oak Island!

  Really enjoyed the beach and being able to walk the dogs on the beach,people very friendly always travel with are two dogs,love that its Pet Friendly all year we keep our dogs on lead all the time,had issues in October at Carolina beach,so didn't go back came to Oak island instead

  lovely beach

  We wanted to take our two dogs to the beach where they would be able to play in the water. We also have a 2 year old son, so we wanted a each that was kid friendly as well. We went in the late afternoon-early evening timeframe and had a great time. The beach was very clean. We will be visiting again.

  This trip was awesome. I always hated going to Myrtle Beach and having to leave my Great Dane at home. He absolutely loved the ocean, jumping in without hesitation. All of the other dog owners were respectful and we had a great time.

  Our Pups First Beach Trip!!!

  We took her to one of the public access areas on Caswell Beach. She absolutely loved it!! We kept her leashed because she would have ran along the surf chasing the seagulls if we gave her the chance. When she wasn't playing in the surf, she was digging in the sand or soaking up some of the rays. She wanted to play with every pup that walked by, but I don't think their owners were too comfortable with the idea... All in all we had a great day. Can't wait till the next trip.

  Caswell Beach is awesome!

  My dog loves to retrieve in the surf and this beach is perfect for that. Plenty of room to run and swim. Dogs are allowed off leash in the evening and before 9am. I went here on a weekday in peak season. People were very dog friendly. The beach is clean and bags are provided to clean up after your pet. Also a shower in the main parking lot area. Sea turtles also nest on this beach and there were protected areas for their nests, but there is plenty of room for everyone (animal and human) on this beach. Loved it!

  Love This Beach!

  This is great beach for pets and families. We took our 18 mo. old Scottish Terrier and he loved it. I would recommend this beach for anyone wanting to take their pet on vacation. The beach is very clean. Other pet owners were very nice and responsible with their pets.

  OUR FAVORITE !

  We always vacation with our dog and Oak Island is our favorite place to go. Dogs are aloud on the beach yaer round and can be off leash every morning and evening. Most evrybody seems to be responsible for their dogs and we have never had an issue with another dog. Finding a rental property that allows pets can be a bit of a chore, but look and you will find some. REALLY like Oak Island!!!

  Fabulous!

  Oak Island beaches are excellent for dogs. The families that vacation there are dog lovers so your dog is welcome. The beach allows dogs all day every day. During peak season they need to be on leash. Our family is visiting there again this year because of our excellent stay last year.
