San Clemente Pedestrian Beach Trail

The San Clemente Pedestrian Beach Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in San Clemente! The map below shows a trailhead where you can pick up the San Clemente Pedestrian Beach Trail. Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has generously provided map data for this trail to Bring Fido for informational purposes only. For more detailed trail information, please visit TrailLink.com. CLOSED to Dogs on the 4th of July

We drove from San Juan Capistrano to this trail to find out that the park was closed to our pups on the 4th of July. Nothing was listed on their website, because I checked it before we left. No sign as you entered the parking lot. After we paid, got out of the car, and walked to the trailhead we saw the sign. NO DOGS on the 4th of JULY. I have no idea, why. It wasn’t like the trail was crowded. This was very disappointing and I won’t be back.

Great Trail But Stay Off The Beach!

Took our doggos to walk this beautiful trail and wanted to let them cool off in the ocean. However, the beach is clearly signed NO DOGS ALLOWED. Lifeguards regularly patrol and will write you up! Just beware!
