  Beautiful view at the top

  First, you should know that the dirt road leading to this trail is in rough shape. We made it in my wife's Honda Accord on a dry day, but would have been more comfortable in a truck or SUV. The early part of the trail is the steepest uphill, so don't give up. It levels out some after a while. Don't quit before the end, because the view from the top is totally worth it! I disagree with the description saying the trail is soft pine needles for Fido's paws. A lot of it is crushed or solid granite, but our 6-year-old Australian Cattle Dog did fine. There are a couple of rocky places where the trail is hard to follow, but if you look around some, you'll find it.

  Great trail for a half day hike in the Colorado Springs area. After forking off to Devil's Playground there isn't much markings for the trail so if there is snow on the ground it can be difficult to know you're on the right trail. But the views at the top are well worth it. We brought out 4 year old beagle and he had a great time hiking up the rocky Crags that give the trail it's name. Dogs can be off leash if they respond to being called quickly, otherwise there were no issues having our dog leashed. Bring plenty of water.
