Coal Oil Point Trail is an easy, 1.5 mile hike in Goleta, CA, that will take about 1 hour to complete with Fido. Dogs are allowed on the bluffs and Campus Beach. Be sure to avoid the dunes and other areas where the endangered Snowy Plover is protected, or you could face a large fine. Name is correct.

Once you come to the gate , go left and park. You will need to pay for parking as it is part of the ucsb campus. The walking path is beautiful. Not very many people on the beach at all. Lots of surfers.
There is a natural petroleum seepage in the ocean, at this area. When we left, our feet and our dogs had lots of oil on them. We ended up stopping to buy some dawn soap to clean it off. Wasn’t a easy task.
