    Great Off Leash Hike

I followed Kim’s review. Parking was right there. Lots of dog walkers with dogs off and on leash. Beautiful woodsy trail. I plan to go back!

    great hike needs markings

This is a wilderness hike but it is not too difficult and is great for dogs. It’s in the woods so bug spray is necessary

The one complaint is the trail is really not marked well so it is very easy to take a wrong turn.

    Awesome

This place was great, took our dogs here and they loved it. It is a bit hard to find but once you do it is fun for all. There are no garbage cans but the area is still extremely clean. There is all type of terrain and it is beautiful. The pups were running around, climbing rocks and jumping off. We drove 35 mins and were happy, Will go back again

    Info Advise on Hardscrabble

Hello people many locals frequent this park like myself weekly with my dogs. The correct GPS coordinate use 37 Dogwood Ln. BCM 10510 puts you right at the trail head can't miss it. There is a map snap a pic with your phone. Dogs can go off leash if friendly and trained to come back! Deer are frequent sites so make sure your dog comes back or they can end up on the parkway. The best hike is Dogwood to Blue trail up, White around Red under power lines loop back to White and down to DW again. Yes there are ticks, spiders, lots of mosquitoes maybe a snake or two, there is also mud poop big rocks big tree roots its a hike! A little over 2 miles take about 45-60 min. No water for humans no poop bags no garbage bins. Dog love it!

    Definitely wilderness!

Hard to find is an understatement. We drove by 3 times before finding the parking area, which consists of the side of the road. It was a beautiful fall day so perfect for a hike, right? Very wrong. No one maintains the area so the trail is completely covered and difficult to track if you aren't paying attention. No trash cans so people don't pick up after their dogs. Plus, there are ticks everywhere. We probably pulled 30 off our dogs. Thankfully they are on preventive but they still got baths and deep combs as soon as we got home.
