Great hike for anyone that wants to do a quick (2 mile) loop or if you’re looking to make your hike an all-day adventure.
Trail signs say to make sure your dog is on leash, but my guy still had a blast.
As a Long Island native I’ll agree with other comments that this trail is most likely covered in ticks during the warmer months (like everything on LI) due to the fact that the trails lead you deep into the forest. However, during the winter months I’ve found the threat of ticks to be next to nothing.
I also suggest looking up a map and brushing up on your trail blazing markers before heading into the hill trails. These trails are very well labeled if you know what to look for! - DianaJan 23, 2021Quiet, great hike with the dogs
On a cold, windy day, we thoroughly enjoyed our hike with our two dogs. We did the 7.7 mile orange trial/loop and found it well marked. We loved the ups and downs of the trail and in the 2.5 hours of our hike, only passed three others. Not much variation in scenery, but the quiet of the wind in the trees and the shining sun made it an enjoyable day. We will be back!

Very pretty trails, go in the winter. The ticks are horrendous!
