    Storm King State Park

    Storm King State Park has a somewhat difficult 3.5-mile hike that will take about 3 hours to complete with Fido in Cornwall, NY. Although the pet-friendly trail skips Butter Hill and Storm King Mountain, it does offer beautiful views of the Hudson River, Bannerman Island, Cold Spring, and Constitution Marsh and is also more lightly traveled. Dogs are not permitted in picnic areas and must be leashed. Visit Website

      Challenging & Worthwhile!

      I am not an avid hiker so this trail had some challenges, but overall it was so much fun! The views really are breathtaking and serene. It’s quite rocky in some parts so hiking boots would help. My 55-lb lab/pit mix did surprisingly well as this was our first 4hr hike.
      Not sure how many trails and entrances the park has but our entrance had very limited parking (about 8 cars) and no picnic area or restroom.

      Great adventure

      A great place to take medium-large sized dogs because the trail is a little difficult. Overall we had an amazing time with our dog. There's a lot of beautiful scenic views to take pictures of!!

      Great for Dogs and their owners

      A beautiful and very dog friendly set of trails. We passed many friendly dogs and stopped at some jaw dropping outcroppings. A slightly challenging hike for beginners due to to scrambling but I would still rate it easy due to the relatively short length of 3ish miles.

      Very nice views

      It took us 2 hours to complete the shorter loop. Very scenic. I see dogs off leash here.
