High Bluff and Rhododendron Gardens Trails

The High Bluff and Rhododendron Gardens Trails are a moderately easy, 3.5 mile hike on Roan Mountain that will take about 1.5 hours to complete with Fido. You will need to visit this trail April through November, since that is when the road to the gardens is open, but the best time is mid to late June when the Catawba rhododendrons are in bloom. Please note that dogs do not need to be on a leash on trails, except in the developed areas, parking lots, and picnic areas; they must be under voice control at all times; small parking fee. Easy And Pretty Trail

This trail is completely paved so it makes a very easy hike. Lots of nice trees and the flowers were in bloom when we visited June 18. I am not sure that it is really off leash allowed so I kept my dog on a leash. There is a viewing area to stop and see some flowers and mountains. Cloud land trails are also right there for you to do as well. You have to travel through Tennessee to get there!
