    Ridge land Balsam Loop

it is a beautiful stop. views are wonderful. Other reviews said 1.4 miles. It is over 2 miles. The hike starts paved and gradual but becomes very rooted and large step ups as it climbs. just fyi.

    Pretty Spot

nice afternoon walk. my wife, Looe and I did it in an hour and a half this afternoon. easy to follow trail to the top of Richard balsam mountain from the blue ridge parkway. be careful, the directions via Apple Maps were wrong, and cell service was very spotty. my wife found the right spot by just looking up the mountain. trail is at the end of a pull off. good parking

    Beautiful Hike With Your Dog

Beautiful hike on the parkway we ended up going twice. Has benches along the trail if you wanted to stop and sit while your pup drinks some water. The outlook you park at has a picnic table so pack some sandwiches to eat while looking at the amazing view for after your hike!
