    Stone Mountain Summit Trail

    Stone Mountain Summit Trail is pet-friendly hike in Roaring Gap, NC. It's a difficult, 3.6-mile trail in Stone Mountain State Park that will take about 2 hours to complete with Fido. Explore the 600-foot dome made of granite, known as Stone Mountain, and the nineteenth century homestead remnants that lie beneath it. Please note that dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet.       Bring water for pup

      This is a strenuous hike even if you have four legs. But we loved it and our Goldendoodle loved splashing in the falls.

      Great hike but crowded

      bring water if you plan on going on any of the loops. keep Fido on leash as there are lots of dogs and people, mostly well behaved. trail is wide and gravelly ... until you get to the stairs to get to the bottom of the falls. note - they are open stairs in case you have a fur baby who gets spooked by those. also.. there are a lot of stairs!
