Metolius River Trail

Metolius River Trail is a pet-friendly path in Bend, OR. It's an easy, 12-mile hike in Deschutes National Forest that will take about 6 hours to complete with Fido. Hike along the river on this flat trail at the base of Black Butte. Mountain bikes and horses are not permitted on this trail, so you can enjoy the hike in peace. Absolutely gorgeous
This was a beautiful and absolutely gorgeous river. There were areas were the trail meandered away from the river with spur trails. Every time my dog and I got to one of the spur trails, my dog put on the brakes and wanted to go down the spur trail so he could be by the water. I reckoned this trail for its beauty and lack of use. Trail very well worn in but the day I hiked I saw a total of 3 people except when we arrived at the fish hatchery.
