We have a second seasonal home about 20 minutes south west of this beach... we bring our dogs there almost daily... weather and surf permitted... absolutely love it and it's a great place to make new friends,,, doggo and human
- CathyOct 20, 2021A wonderful dog beach!
Our small dog loved running along the seaside. The leash rule really made us feel more comfortable as he is elderly and having other dogs randomly approach is often too much for him. There are no restrooms on the brach but I gave it five bones anyways because it is easy to jump in the car and find a public bathroom. It’s all about our dogs, right?
- ShannonMay 13, 2021Best dog beach yet!
Easy access and a large stretch of beach for the pup. Dogs are supposed to be leashed, and most abide by that rule. With such a large stretch, beach does not get overwhelming with people/dogs as most do. No defined parking, but plenty of room on side streets.

I wish Ormond was dog friendly like Flagler.

My pup had tons of fun, but we unfortunately had to leave due to the infestation of sand fleas. They were unbearable.

I live in Daytona Beach and drove to Flagler for my pup. Although the Flagler Beach website says the beaches are dog friendly south of S 10th & north of N 10th, the North Peninsula State Park interrupts the “friendliness” of the beach. There was a sign, but it was covered by the sand dunes. The officer who approached us was very nice, however the city should provide that information via their website.

Able to park right by stairs and walk down to beach. However we have an old arthritic big dog who has to have a stroller for any distance over 20 feet and there were no ramps that we found and the sand was soft in areas so where we came down was where we had to stay. I love the unique coquina sand and lots of shells. It is leashed but a 6-8 foot leash allows for plenty of play and our little dog had a blast.
- JamesDec 27, 2017Lots of off leash dogs
Flagler may claim it’s a leash beach but most dogs we saw were running loose with minimal efforts by owners to keep dogs under control, let alone on a leash. Frustrating if you have dogs on leash (obeying the law) when other dogs are running loose, riling up other dogs on leashes.

I happened to stop there and see they allow dogs on the beach. They had parking spots in a1a, right by the entrance.
The beach is absolutely gorgeous and I was there i at the end of April and there were few people around!
I had my dog leashed. I met a woman that had a dog with her and since the pups wanted to play, I attached another leash to mine , to extend it and let them play. The pups had a blast! - KieraMore than a year agowindy but awesome
I enjoy having to use the leash because there aren't any stressful moments, I was on the beach with one other person. She had let her dog play, so I let my dog play with her dog.
It was windy as heck but it was a great time. Friendly local spot.

This is one of the few beaches you can walk along w/ your LEASHED dog without being harassed by a bunch of crazy unleashed dogs. We love our solitude. Lots of wide open space to enjoy. Makes for a lovely, peaceful walk!

Nice free beach, park around 14 th or 15th south street on side, nice and relaxing great for the dog, remember your doggie sunscreen!

I was kind of disappointed, that the dogs had to be leashed. I thought it would be like Walton Rocks, where the dogs have fun in the waves and fetching a ball. Boring for my dogs and me.

Closest place to Ormond to take a swim! I had so much fun! And we have been back several times. I love meeting new friends to swim and play with!!
- MollyMore than a year agoAlways leash your dog
8 foot leash is as long as you can have - Do Not let your do run free. You will be fined. And we always hear dog owners say "he never attacked anyone before" - after fido really hurt someone. So be responsible so they dont shut down the Dog Beach - thanks!

We go every year and bring our humans, love the beach, ocean and people, went to Myrtle Beach as well last year but can't beat Flagler beach. Woof Woof!
- BrianaMore than a year agoBooka was diggin this beach
Me and My family went to Palm coast to visit family and wanted to bring our dog Booka. When we found out that Flaggler Beach was dog friendly we were in. There is alot of space for him to run around and play and he loved swimming. I'd suggest bringing a few leashes and hooking them together so your pooch gets his own space, but other then that pack a doggy bag and hit the waves!
