    Padlocked Closed

While traveling through Montgomery we stopped here at 6:37 AM so my dog could get in a run and swim. The gate was closed and padlocked. It was after dawn and I'm not happy. But at least there was a boat ramp so she got in a short swim.

    Cooters Pond Dog Park

We started taking our cock-a-poo here when she was about a year old. She loved running with the other pups. Several times larger, untrained dogs were in the park and they intimidated her. Now, at age 2, she is skittish about going in when large dogs are present. Today she was attacked as we were leaving. No blood drawn, but she was totally buried under the other dog. Luckily the owner was able to pull his dog off her. This park should be divided into two sections to separate large and small dogs.

    Nice dog park!

we took our two dogs yesterday and had a great time! it’s a pretty dog park with trees for shade, plenty of benches, nice grass and pickup stations that were stocked. it wasn’t busy and the dogs ran and ran. there were hoses for water and one bowl (you might want to bring your own). the fence was nice and secure.

Not as clean as we hoped

This dog park is conveniently located from our hotel in Prattville, while we were there visiting family, so we decided to take our 2 Labs for some playtime. It is at the far end of Cooter Pond Park. There is only one area for both large or small dogs, but it is very large. We were highly disappointed to find that the park was full of poop which had not been picked up. Not cool!!! There was no scooper for people to use and the 2 poop bag dispensers were on the furthest ends of the park. Being such a hot and humid climate, I suppose that people don’t want to bother walking all that distance to get a bag and if they did, probably couldn’t find where their dog did his business. If you go, bring your own bag and watch your step.

    Excellent!

We were passing through town and needed a place for our dogs to run around. This is wonderful “hidden” dog park. It’s one very large, clean, fenced area with water faucet access and some toys. There are tables and benches for the owners. We were there for about 45 minutes and no one else came by. This is in a larger city run park with walking trail and pavilions and although it was perfect for my family to stop at, I would be hesitant to go as a woman alone because it is so secluded.

    Nice Spacious Dog park

So admittedly, this is my first dog park visit. Recently got a new puppy and took her to this park. The photos shown above are old. There are now more trees and some added things like a ramp for the dogs to play on, water station, toys, clean up stations, benches and picnic tables. It is a little hard to find, but it’s also a small park area so if you keep looking you’ll find it! Just go through the iron gates and keep going till you hit the end of the road. We were the only ones there, but still I feel it was good for my pup to get out and explore a new area with new dog smells. I feel like it’d be a great park for dogs to play in. I only gave it a four star cause I have no other dog parks to compare it too and wasn’t sure if it deserves a five or not lol

    perfect for my dog

This park is perfect for my dog. She likes other dogs in small doses. She gets overwhelmed with large groups of dogs. This park is nice because it's huge, minimally used, and no other distractions.

    great park

This is one huge park. Our three dogs loved it. Played ball and just ran around. It has great shade benches for sitting and all fenced in. We are full time RVers and are always looking for parks to give our dogs some much needed exercise.

Great place to socialize your dog!

I always meet interesting dog owners & awesome dogs at our dog park. It has come a long way since it originally opened; trees, benches, & a watering bar have been added. It's a great place to enjoy an afternoon & drain some canine energy!

    Nice dog park

Nice dog park. We just moved here and it's a great place to take our dog. It's well kept and there are always poop bags. Not always a lot of dogs there but it is a great size to throw a ball or frisbee and let your dogs run around. It also offers convenient water spigots.

    Out with friends

We are very blessed to have a beginning dog park in Prattville, AL
It is getting better all the time, and with the planting of the trees for shade, the tables and chairs to relax in, and the maintenance of the fence and doggie poo stations it is turning out great.
There have been a few contests we are entered in, and grants to help improve it, and it is coming along nicely!

    Simple but nice

Big, clean fenced in area with grass. I took my puppy on a weekday morning and there was nobody there. It would be nice if there was more to it, but oh well.

    Cooter Pond Dog Park

This is a pretty bare bones park, just a big fenced in area with a couple trash/poop cleanup stations. It is never very busy either, especially during the week.
