Right by the highway, great for travelers!

Stopped here on the way out of town so that my dog could run some before spending another full day in the car, and it was such a good decision!
The park is about 1/2 shady area and 1/2 open, and it's pretty big! It looked like people were bringing their own containers for water (there is a hose to fill them up), but there is also a water fountain just outside the dog park fence that has a lower spot for dogs to drink.
Minus one bone for no water containers - plus I didn't appreciate one of the regulars unceremoniously grabbing my dog to pull her back from sniffing her own dog just bc she didn't want her dog running around.

Lots of Great Shade and Room to Run

My two miniature Australian Shepherds had a great visit. Three quarters of big dog park was shady and the other third was open field. There were several other dogs and they came over for a sniff than went back to their humans. The only negative is that the doggy bags and trash cans were only by the entrance gate. Which caused several piles of uncollected poop at the far end of the park.

    Great Park

This park has plenty of room for my girls to run . There is a shaded area and a wide open area for your pet. They have the park divided into two areas for smaller pets and larger. There are pools for your pet to plan in.

    Need water checked

Great park, took my 2 dogs there, on a hot day, they loved the play, the shade, etc, but my living 25 miles away, and no water, was bad. took them to the nearby fast food place to get a bowl of water, otherwise, great place,

    Great times

I have been going to this park for a couple months and have never had a bad experience. I have made friends and enjoy all the space I have to run around. This is my second away from home!

    Spay and Neuter

By the way, would be nice if some of the dog owners at this park would get their male dogs neutered ! Makes for less hyper, pushy dogs.

Nothing for small dogs, plenty of gravel

The small dog section is a joke - too small for ANY dog ! If you like lots of gravel, then this is the park for you. We prefer the other parks in Charlotte or Gastonia, by far.

    Shuffletown Dog Park

Today was the first time I have ever used the Park. I know my dog Bella, enjoyed her self her first time ! Got to run and play so much all she has done is sleep, since returning home !
As a senior the walking conditions around the park are superior. A bench in which to rest the legs of weary owners. Access to water and shade too ! Thank you, on my behalf for your consideration of our animals at the Mecklenburg, Park & Recreation Department Department
