  My thee dogs favorite walk

  Great place to let your dogs off leash. Please make sure your pets are trained and socialized if you go off leash! NOT an actual dog park on the island but a dog friendly place with social animals. Mosquitoes in the warm weather since it is right on the Yellowstone river.
  Plenty of parking and easy access. Lots of trees and trails to explore. Your dogs will pick up some burrs here if they go off trail at all and if it rained it will be muddy in places.

  Great for people! No longer great for dogs

  My dogs and I used to love walking at Norms, but most people who have been bringing their dogs lately believe it is a dog park when it’s actually a hiking train that allows pets (BIG difference!!!). For this reason people have been bringing dogs that are NOT trained, have zero recall, and/or are highly reactive and/or aggressive. Off leash training is great, but make sure your dog has had the proper socialization, desensitization, and obedience training first before bringing them on a trail and just taking the leash off! Because my dogs were close to being attacked by other dogs on multiple occasions, I no longer take them here

  Not dog friendly?

  There were numerous signs stating dogs were not allowed!! Not sure if those were specific areas since it was not where the “water” was but thought I’d let everyone know. We ended up not staying because of this & the mosquitoes!

  Great Location Lots Of Bugs

  Awesome trails that make for a great scenic walk. Be sure to bring LOTS of bug spray the mosquitoes were horrible! We were there in July.

  correct location of parking lot.

  Great dog park. Map send you to a random neighborhood. Correct location of the parking to get to the island is Norm's Island Dog Park

  The map shows it located within North Park. Directions would be nice so that people don't waste gas and time looking for it.

  I love this place... only drawback is my fault. My dog doesn't wanna get outta the water!!!!! Even without a pup, it's a beautiful place to go sit on a bench and watch the sunset over the Yellowstone! We are so blessed to live here!

  Norm's Island

  Norm's is a great place to take your dogs and let them play off leash. Beautiful scenery and often glimpses of eagles, owls & hawks! There are generally a wide variety of fun loving dogs ready to play with anyone! Wonderful swim spots for the those pups that just love the water! Remember to clean up after your pet :)
